Fishing Trips
We offer a number of trip options so it doesn't matter whether you are an experienced angler or a complete novice, you will always be welcome aboard the MFV Guide Me. Individual or group bookings are welcome and assistance is always available to those who need it. You will be fishing the rocky northeast seabed for species including Cod, Ling, Pollock, Coalfish and Mackerel. Rod hire is available aboard the vessel. Below are some of the trip options we offer.
3 Hour Fishing Trip
This trip is ideal for families and novices and is the shortest of our trips. The trip will provide you with a good taste for angling and some of the views from the boat will be quite picturesque. For this short trip we usually try to fish in as calm a sea as possible. Often we will be trying to catch Mackerel and this can get exciting if we manage to find a shoal of Mackerel. If this happens everybody onboard should catch at least one fish and probably a lot more! In the summer months we often run a few short 2 hour Mackerel trips.
4 Hour Fishing Trip
This trip is usually more suited to anglers with some experience. We may be fishing the hard rocky bottom further offshore where we will be trying to catch mainly Cod, Ling, Pollock, Coalfish and Mackerel. The sea can be slightly choppy depending on the weather but we will always try to keep to areas where the sea is calm.
6/8 Hour Fishing Trip
This trip is aimed at the more experienced angler and we will usually be fishing the hard rocky bottom for Cod, Ling, Pollock and Coalfish. We will search a number of different areas for fish and we may also be fishing further offshore as this is a longer trip.
